Google Glass
Google has certainly upped the ante with the release of its newest product- Google Glass. Google Glass is a part of the larger Project Glass program that Google has created to research and develop the Google Glass product. Google Glass on a basic level is a sort of high-tech eyewear. But on a more complex level, Google Glass is a hands-free eyewear device that functions through voice commands to take pictures and videos, get directions, answer questions, and much more.
Undoubtedly Google Glass will change the way people interact. Once the products actually becomes available, Google says by the end of 2013, no longer will people with Google Glass be constantly consumed by their iPhones. While this might sound like a perfect idea, people all over the nation and globe are already pointing out its flaws- including privacy, and wearability and practicality of the product.
What do you all think or Google Glass? I'm not totally convinced, but you don't know till you try! I can't wait to see what Google has in store for us over the next few months, so stay tuned!

"Those Stories and More…" 60 Minutes Inspiration
Almost every week, especially when I'm at home with my family, I watch CBS News' 60 Minutes program on Sunday evenings. 60 Minutes has been around for over 45 seasons and has always been a routine in my house. As kind of magazine for television 60 Minutes remains one of my favorite programs on television to date. 60 Minutes brings a unique kind of storytelling to the forefront of news programming and my favorite part about the program is the way in which the reporters tell the stories of often unknown players in our world today. These people are creative, passionate, and are making incredible strides in their fields and 60 Minutes open's our eyes to their projects and successes. I love how the stories are introduced from a magazine-like set, and the background ticking of the stopwatch, counting down the program's 60 minutes.
Today I'd like to share two recent stories I saw on 60 Minutes that sparked my attention. The interviews can be found here and here, but first I just want to introduce the stories of these two innovative thinkers.
David Kelly, the founder IDEO, a global design firm, is at the center of the first 60 Minutes story. Not only has he invented countless breakthrough inventions including the first mouse for Apple, but he has revolutionized the concept of thinking and inventing things of the future. IDEO is his product design company where thinkers from all backgrounds come together and partake is what he calls 'design thinking,' which stresses the importance of collaboration and teamwork. To learn more about the inner workings of Kelly's brilliant mind, watch the interview.
Craig Kielburger and his story is at the center of the second 60 Minutes story. As a 12 year old boy, Kielburger was inspired to start a charity called Free the Children. His first passion was to free children from poverty and exploitation, but after the realization that he could not possibly free every child, he decided that his efforts could best be served through the creation of his organization that still exists today. Today Free the Children is an international charity that has involved over 1.7 million youth that have banned together on the journey through development programs that have created schools, provided clean water and more in 45 countries around the world. Free the Children is the largest network of children helping children and to learn more about Kielburger and his motto- we are the change.

Happy Birthday to Me!
So today I turn 20! Wow! Did those two decades go by fast or what?? I can't believe it. I definitely feel good about turning 20 today. Although it makes me a bit nervous to leave my teenage years behind and look forward to true adulthood, I think I'm ready for this new chapter in my life to begin and see what the next decade has in store for me. I'm loving college and my studies as I pursue journalism, I have fantastic family and friends that surround me everyday, and I just went to the Mumford & Sons concert last night! I mean really, what more could I ask for?? Here's to an unforgettable year ahead, embracing my 20s!!

Thought Provoking
Here are a few quotes, tips, and other tidbits that I came across, or learned over the past week:
Take more risks.
Working toward one dream can sometimes lead to the door of another dream.
Good things come to those who wait and work hard.
Keep your mind open, there are countless possibilities.
If you don't be on yourself no one will.
Don't be afraid to ask for help.
Discovering things about the world helps you discover things about who you are.
I have really started to take some of these to heart and practice them to become a better and more successful person and blogger. Sorry if things seem so serious today but I've been doing a lot of thinking and after becoming a member of the Her Campus Blogger Network I really want to strive to produce fantastic content for all of you and have become inspired by some of these words above.
